Logline
L’Aversion is a coming-of-age tale told through the eyes of 10-year-old Florence who witnesses a children's Judo competition transform into an animalistic circus.
Director's Statement
L'aversion deals with a point in life that almost everyone has to face. It takes you back to the time when you were a child and had to do things that you didn't want or didn't understand.
It is the different portrayal of the adult and children's world that makes the film extraordinary.
L'aversion gives a unique children's point of view, sparking conversations about whether life should be about performance and efficiency or about doing what you want - what you think feels right. L'aversion poses the question if life always has to be about winning or losing.
Florence's story is deeply personal, inspired by my childhood experiences of being exposed to the pressure of performing during a judo competition.
